Kim Steele

Kim isn’t just questioning the impact of climate documentaries—she’s calling time on them. She founded Documentaries Don’t Work with a clear vision of reaching audiences that the documentary space isn’t interested in.

Her career as a performer in multiple Tony Award-winning Broadway productions honed her command of audience psychology and emotional storytelling—skills she now wields in environmental advocacy. Her training at UCLA's School of Theatre, Film and Television cemented the technical expertise that underpins DDW's innovative approach.

Fiercely committed to proving that narrative films can achieve both commercial success and social impact, Kim is redefining how society engages with the biggest existential opportunity of our lifetime.
